5 Holiday Gift Hacks Every Parent Will Love (And Actually Use)

5 Holiday Gift Hacks Every Parent Will Love (And Actually Use)

The holiday season is here—and we see you, mum and dad! That’s right: the ones huddling in the corner, already overwhelmed by the amount of baby and/or child stuff taking over every room in the house. And now it’s time for more presents? Not so fast—we’re here, as always, to help. So, before you step on one more Lego in your bare feet, why not give these 5 alternatives to holiday toys a try?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but not for your wallet or your available storage space. Instead of packing your house with more toys that your child may or may not actually like, here are 5 things you can do to mix things up and make things easier for mum and dad.

1. Memories over clutter

Over the past decade or so, there’s been a shift in how adults spend money on themselves. Instead of purchasing things, they’ve switched to valuing experiences over stuff. Well, the same can be done for your little ones. A baby spa or tickets to an amusement park have the power to create wonderful memories and won’t keep your child’s closet from closing all the way.

2. One in, one out

This is a great lesson about sustainability and caring, for kids who are old enough to understand. If they can’t get a certain toy out of their heads, go ahead and buy it. And after unwrapping, invite them to choose one of their well-loved toys to pass on to another child. It’s a sweet moment of compassion, and it keeps things a little lighter at home, too.

3. The power of practical presents

We’ve all felt the sting of carefully unwrapping a beautiful package only to find socks inside. So, this tip is probably only for babies. Diapers, baby skincare and/or wipes, woollen hats and gloves: sure, these might seem like gifts designed to make your days run smoother—and that’s a win for everyone. They’re not the flashiest gifts, but they’re the ones that get used every single day. Sounds like true holiday magic to us!

4. Level up your ride

Gift your baby the smoothest ride possible by giving them the softest accessories for their pushchair. blanket to send them off to dreamland. or if you really want them snug and comfy on the go, why not choose the Bedding collection bundle which features the Cloud soft blanket, Perfect fitted sheet and Sweet dreams flat sheet. Perfect for crisp morning walks or late afternoon naps in the pushchair.

5. Sneaky Santa

This one might be our favourite hack, because it involves saving money and just a hint of mischief. šŸ˜‰If you have really small kids, simply wrap up a toy/book that’s been sitting in a corner for a while, forgotten. Chances are the excitement of a ā€œnew presentā€ will completely erase any memory they had of it beforehand. They enjoy the thrill of unwrapping, and you enjoy one less thing to buy (and one less thing to store).

Happy Holidays from all of us at Joolz! We hope these hacks make your days a bit brighter and your nights a bit more relaxing for the rest of 2025. Whether your holidays are picture-perfect or perfectly chaotic, we hope you enjoy them.
